STAR TREK: VOY “NYGEAN IKO COSTUME” FROM “REPENTANCE”

Record summary

A costume featured in the Star Trek: Voyager episode “Repentance”; wherein “Voyager” comes to the rescue of a critically damaged prison ship but, the more they learn, the more they begin to doubt the system that incarcerated the inmates. This costume is that of “Iko” (Jeff Kober) the Nygean criminal who was “cured” when “The Doctor” (Robert Picardo) attempted to heal a neural edema with nanoprobes and unknowingly corrected what had caused all of his violent behavior; it consists of an olive, vinyl jumpsuit with orange down one arm, plastic iconographic symbols across the abdomen, a partial zip down the front, a zip down the back, and a black, elastic belt that holds the two 9-volt batteries and the activation switch for the LED lights attached to the front of the costume. The costume was lightly distressed to emulate the way that the prisoners were treated in this culture. The wiring for the lights is intact and features depicted functionality. A sewn in Voyager tag reads ‘Jeff Cobert’, and a costumer’s tag reads ‘Voyager, 259 Repentance, Iko, Jeff Kober’.
