STAR TREK IX: INSURRECTION “SON'A BUTTON PANEL”

A set dressing item featured in Star Trek IX: Insurrection on sets build to represent the interior of Son’a starships. The item is a button panel like those appearing variously in Star Trek, but with the specific theme of the Son’a. It is made up of a shaped black acrylic piece with metallic silver adhesive accents that are adorned with faux hexagonal knobs or buttons, each with their own metallic silver adhesive identifier that depicts an iconographic alien letter. One of the knobs is larger and painted red with a metallic gold letter. The asymmetrical item measures approx. 9 X 3 X 0.75 inches and items like this appear in the feature next to doors and other areas to busy the scene and suggest the need for an interface with ship systems.
