A triple pin rank backing created for use on Starfleet costume uniforms in Star Trek episodic television and feature films. The item is gold colored metal with a soft, rounded base from which protrudes two pins that punch through collar fabric to be inserted into a rank pip. For auction is only the pin backing, authentic and created for use in studio production.
