A metallic silver painted prop pen featured in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode “Children of Time” wherein the crew of the “USS Defiant” become predestined to crash on the planet they are orbiting and eventually spawn multiple generations worth of their descendants 200 years in the past. Before this occurs, the away team discovers the fact by meeting some of their great-grandchildren and more. One of the children in the colony, now 8000 strong, was drawing as part of her homework while determining a math problem given to her by the “Quark” (Armin Shimerman) computer program teacher. This item is the child's pen, a metallic silver painted pen with gold colored metallic adhesive tape accents. The interior ballpoint pen can actually be made to write, though it should be taken into consideration the time of storage since the episode. The pen writes in black ink and measures approx. 6 inches in length.
