Record summary
“Dr. Jo'Brill” (James Horan) was a Takaran scientist invited onboard the U.S.S Enterprise to view a test of its metaphasic shielding in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode “Suspicions”. Jo’Brill wasn’t all he appeared to be and was killed in self-defense by Dr. Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden). The first shot blasted a hole through his abdomen but it failed to kill him, the second shot was set to vaporize and he was annihilated. This great costume shows how the special effects were done to give the illusion of Jo’Brill having a gaping hole straight through him by having a blue piece of fabric in the center of the blast hole. The blue fabric acts as a screen to project any background the special effects department needs, thus making a hole appear where really there is not. The rest of the costume is made of heavy weight fabric that features rectangular shapes and a zip up the back. The outer edge of the hole is made of latex rubber painted to look like the insides of Jo’Brill. Costume comes complete with costume tag.
