STAR TREK: “POLE ARM” PROP

Record summary

Featured in many Star Trek episodes, pole-arm props like this made appearances in scenes revolving around impoverished characters, people trapped on worlds where energy weapons were rendered useless, or others where weapons had to appear as though they had been made out of ‘available' components. Pole-arms like this one appeared in the episode “Battle Lines” of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. The item is a metal rod with a rubber ball shaped weight on one end and a rubber ‘blade’ attached to the other. The item has been painted green and allowed to scratch for a used appearance, and the ‘blade’ features gouges and nicks to appear used in battle; the adhesive for the blade is visible and some of it has disconnected due to time. The item measures approx. 48 X 4 inches.
