STAR TREK: DS9 “VORTA WEYOUN COSTUME” FROM “TACKING INTO THE WIND”

A costume featured in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode “Tacking into the Wind”; wherein “Chancellor Gowron” (Robert O'Reilly) begins reckless attacks against the Dominion and “Colonel Kira” (Nana Visitor) and “Damar” (Casey Biggs) attempt to steal one of the Breen energy dampening weapons. This costume is for wear by Trek and cult favorite Jeffrey Combs in the role of the Vorta diplomat and ambassador to Cardassia “Weyoun”, it consists of two long-sleeved, teal and gold-colored shirts featuring a design that summons imagery of a Victorian frieze or ancient cartographer’s symbol and pleating just under the collar. A jacket with one long sleeve and one short featuring an abstract, multi-colored pattern in an asymmetrical design with buttons and clasps down the front; purple faux-suede accents across the shoulders and down the long sleeve, and two multicolored, overall-style trousers with stirrups for the feet. Jeffrey Combs has the distinction of being one of only a scant few actors to appear in more than seven roles in the various Star Trek series. Sewn in tags read ‘Deep Space Nine, Jeffrey Combs’ and ‘Dennis Christopher’ as the Vorta “Borath” in the episode “The Search: Part II”; the costumer’s tag reads ‘Deep Space Nine, Weyoun, Jeffrey Combs’.
